Roofline Installations

The roofline is the fittings around the edge of a roof, including the fascias, soffits and gutters. Traditionally, wooden fascias and metal gutters were used but in the development of plastics during the mid twentieth century led to what we now refer to as PVC roofline.

The roofline is a very important part of the house. The gutters are essential to take rainwater away from the house. Leaking or failed gutters can lead to serious problems. Rainwater running into or onto parts of the house where it shouldn’t will cause timber decay and potentially structural problems with the house. It is very important to ensure the roofline is kept in good order.

Discoloured or damp patches, flaking paint and gutter leaks are indications that the roofline is not functioning as it should and should be investigated and dealt with . Simple repairs can help keep the roofline functioning correctly.

Though if the roofline has gone past a certain stage of deterioration, it becomes wiser to remove and replace it. Replacing roofline involves removing the old gutters, fascias and soffits. The edges of the roof are then checked and any necessary maintenance carried out. Any rotten timbers are replaced and we usually apply timber preservative or woodworm treatment to the timbers before we cover them over with the new fascias.

With the heavier rains we now experience, it has become wise to install higher capacity gutters which can cope with heavier downpours.

We are experienced roofers so are able to carry out all necessary adaptions or repairs to the adjacent roof.
